Hi, I’m Malina!

My name means “raspberry” in a lot of Slavic languages — just not in mine. That’s why I called this blog Wandering Rasbperry. I love to wander, and my name quite literally means raspberry.

I grew up in the countryside surrounded by fields, forests, and pretty much every farm animal you can think of. Travel wasn’t really a thing in my childhood beyond the occasional family trip to the mountains or the beach. I didn’t leave the country until I was 14, when I went on a student exchange to France. That trip completely changed everything. I came home obsessed with the idea of seeing more of the world.

One of the first things I did was search for ways to study abroad. I found a scholarship to finish high school in the UK, and two years later I packed my bags and moved to a small village in the east of England. I could barely speak English at the time, so it was equal parts terrifying and exciting – exactly the kind of adventure I’d been craving.

After that, I moved on to university and eventually ended up in London. Between a full-time job, friends, hobbies, and city life, my travel time is limited, so I’ve become really good at making every trip count. I research each destination carefully, plan realistic itineraries, and focus on getting the best experience without wasting time or money.

That’s exactly why I started this blog. I couldn’t find anywhere that gave me what I actually needed: smart, realistic plans that maximise the experience whether you only have a weekend or a full week. So I decided to create the resource I wish I’d had.

You’ll find honest destination guides, practical day-by-day itineraries, and all the little tips I’ve picked up along the way. I also run a small book club here where we read travel-inspired books and stories from around the world, because sometimes the best adventures start between the pages.
